Test series 7.0 snapseedTEST IPA

IBUs | 60
ABV | 7.6%

The World Doesn’t Need (Just) Another IPA. We decided only to make one if we could add to the conversation.

The Test IPA was born in our RFR+D Program. It has had many code names, including Blanco and Citra Mafia. When visitors to the Taproom liked it and we couldn’t stop drinking it ourselves, we realized that perhaps we had something worth sharing.

With this beer, we are in a perpetual state of refinement. In December we released Version 1.0, in early February Version 2.0, Version 3.0 in March, Version 4.0 in April, Version 5.0 in June, Version 6.0 in September, and Version 7.0 in October, and now Version 8.0 in November. This is the continuing story of the Test IPA.

Please email us at brewery[at]ruhstallerbeer.com with your thoughts.

[ HOP YARD DESIGNATED ]

“The Hop King”

Let me tell you a little about David Utterback

I first met him after Virginia Signorotti* introduced us, and our first conversation lasted less than 30 seconds.

It comprised of me introducing myself and David responding with a bothered grunt. That was over three years ago. Now I call him a friend, partner, mentor, and Certified Hop Nut!

His secrets are understanding his land, respecting it’s rich hop growing history as the epicenter of the world’s largest hop growing region, and his wife, Dia.

It is with love, respect, care and a huge unforgettable smile that the Utterback’s have grown and dried these hops, and it is our honor to be their steward.

Enjoy!

FRANK J. IPA

BARLEY | California Metcalf & Copeland
HOPS | California CTZ, Cascade, Centennial & Citra
IBUs | 60
ABV | 7.6%

The world doesn’t need another IPA. We decided only to make one if we could add to the conversation.

A result of our RFR+D* program, this beer had many iterations. When visitors to the Taproom liked it and we couldn’t stop drinking it ourselves, we realized that perhaps we had something worth sharing.

Several months ago, we sent a test IPA to our favorite stores and restaurants and listened to your suggestions on how to make it better. We tweaked some things, and made a 2.0, listened again…tweaked again.

Here it is, we call it Frank J. (the Capt’s eldest son)

Thanks to all who made this happen, for all the comments and suggestions.

Hope you like it!
