The first Sacramento beer since Prohibition to feature locally-grown hops.  Blue Heron hops play the lead role in this bright and citrusy fresh hop ale. Winters Farmer Sean McNamara partnered with Ruhstaller in April 2012 to plant his Blue Heron Hop Yard, harvesting his inaugural crop in August 2012 with the help of Ruhstaller volunteers. Hops from the historic Sloughhouse ranch of the Signorotti Family, the last family to produce hops in the Sacramento Region, are also featured in this wet hop ale. The beer that brought hops back to Sacramento…HopSac 2012, Blue Heron… the legacy of Captain Frank Ruhstaller.

HopSac 2012 – Blue Heron is a late pick from Winters and is available in finer bottle shops and markets now.
